After surviving the war Joe settled in Ottawa with his family and served as the city's only Kosher Butcher for 50 years. Now "Zaidy" to seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Joe enjoys travelling, poker, and playing a dynamic role in VIVA Thornhill Woods' vibrant community through his volunteer efforts.
