About

The Corporation of Massey Hall and Roy Thomson Hall is a not-for-profit charitable organization operating two of Canada’s premier concert halls. Showcasing the world’s greatest performers in all disciplines, the Halls are also prominent venues for diverse activities in the business and entertainment district of downtown Toronto. Massey Hall opened in 1894 as a gift to the city of Toronto from the Massey family. Roy Thomson Hall, which opened in 1982, is the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, premier venue for the gala screenings of the Toronto International Film Festival and the venue of choice for corporate events throughout the year. It is named in memory of Roy Thomson, Lord Thomson of Fleet following a naming gift to the hall by the Thomson family.
