Beth Tzedec to Welcome Rabbi Steven Wernick as Senior Rabbi in 2019 Rabbi Wernick has served as CEO of The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ), based in New York City, since 2009, following successes as a pulpit rabbi. His expertise in building vital synagogue communities through authentic Jewish engagement is widely recognized. Both Forward and Newsweek count Rabbi Wernick as one of today's 50 most influential Jewish leaders.
