IAS PEOPLE CONN AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JIAS (Jewish Immigrant Aid Services) of Toronto, a non-profit agency with 50 employees and a budget of approximately $4 million, is currently looking for a dynamic executive director with the leadership skills to guide the organization through a period of transition. As the executive director, you will carry out direct fundraising based on a proven track record of success, initiate and implement a strategic planning process, and ensure that the agency continues to serve as a powerful advocate for newcomers to Canada. You will possess the following traits: Empathy towards the issues and challenges that newcomers face Integrity and credibility Superior communication skills Excellent analytical skills An ability to collaborate, coach, and influence Strong faliaity with Jewish traditions, values, and customs You will possess a post-secondary degree in social services, business or a related discipline, with ten years experience in a relevant field. Experience managing a budget of at least $4 million is required; as well, you will have knowledge regarding immigration trends, Canadian law, and related issues pertaining to the settlement of immigrants. In addition, you will have worked with lay committees and have knowledge of operating in a union environment. Desirables: Master's degree in social work or a related discipline, and knowledge of Hebrew and/or Russian.
