(Babylonian Talmud, Tractate Shabbat, 31a} The Shalom Hartman Institute mourns the passing of our friend, board member, and longtime hevruta Dr. Douglas Wilansky z"| Doug stood alongside our founder Rabbi David Hartman z"l as a friend and student since their time together in Montreal, and was a stalwart supporter and partner since the founding of the Institute in its mission to serve the Jewish people. Doug manifested a deep appreciation for the study of Torah and its fulfillment in how he lived as a Jew, a physician, and as a human being. He was a brilliant mind and an inspiring mensch who was loved and revered by everyone on our Board and staff. May his memory be a blessing, as was his life.
